Details: This small compendium is my attempt to provide examples from Baptist history that show a commonality and deliberately biblical approach to doctrine and practice. The oldest document included is from an Anabaptist, one of the sober-minded brothers we can embrace.
Two of the articles come from men who signed the 1644 London Baptist Confession of faith. My experience has shown me that many Baptists have been told much about those who signed the 1689 London Baptist Confession, but virtually nothing from the first generation of particular Baptists.
A common problem that afflicts mankind is our tendency to rely on what we’ve been taught without examining the teaching to see if it be true. This is particularly dangerous when it comes to that revealed to us by our Creator in His Scripture. To be known as People of the Book, far and wide, should be our goal.
